Millions of people in Africa lack the most basic of humanitarian necessities such as running water, sanitation, access to education and often a safe place away from harrowing physical, sexual and mental abuse. In a World where we can now build in the Metaverse and enjoy instant luxury at our finger tips, it’s an unbelievable and stark contrast for many living in poverty between the first and third world. We founded Lifting Africa to make a positive impact on humanity by helping those that need and want our help.
Lifting Africa Charity Foundation | Clothing with impact
Fully funded by selling Lifting Africa products as well as through its fundraising and donors. We create sustainable athletic streetwear and activewear to promote wellbeing whilst funding a positive change. As a charity we are constantly evolving and adapting to help as many people in need as we can, so far, we have created a safe place for children to come and eat Monday to Friday, a place for respite away from the terrible home environments many children are faced with. We also have a safe house for female and child victims of abuse and violence – they often arrive suicidal and with no thought of hope. We work hard to change that by enabling them to take the steps to escape, start again and be self-sufficient. We provide ongoing support as its key these women and children don’t return to life of abuse and violence. The Lifting Africa foundation also supports educational institutions in SA to help feed and educate children across academia, drug abuse as well as gender equality to help change the foundations of tomorrows generation. Not forgetting our sanitation projects and ongoing mission to provide safe water.

The Tsholofelong Children & Youth Trust is located in Old Naledi (Gaborone, Botswana). The centre is a small plot with basic facilities that relies on donations to help provide a safe and happy environment, Monday-Friday for vulnerable children in the local area.
This being our most recent and impactful project. Lifting Africa's Women is fully focused on GBV (Gender Based Violence), specifically in South Africa, a beautiful country with one of the highest rates of sexual and violent assaults to women and children. How are we helping?
Project Education - Focuses on providing necessary tools to help aid education to children in the lowest of income areas in South Africa.
The Lifting Africa Foundation's first project looks to tackle the most monumental of issues faced in the majority of the african continent; lack of access to clean drinking water.

Transparency
Every single penny that goes into the Lifting Africa Foundation is solely for our projects, no salaries nor any other expenses are paid by the Foundations funds. This separates us from the majority of the world’s biggest charities – where the majority use donated money for ‘Administrative costs’ which effectively means business expenses; salaries, office rental, untraceable business costs.
Founder: Justin Down
Educated in the UK and raised in Botswana, I am fortunate to experience and witness the pros and cons of both first and third World living. To this day, I remain truly captivated by the pure spirit of happiness and gratitude of the people in Botswana and SA despite often experiencing the most brutal of challenges that comes with poverty. The UK taught me that I can be part of the future-change and use my learnings to make a real difference to the lives of people that need it. As a keen footballer and advocate for health and wellbeing across physical and mental fitness it was a natural manoeuvre to pioneer a charitable foundation funded by selling activewear and athletic streetwear. Lifting Africa was born, with a mission to enable us all to Lift Africa and its people.
Please continue to support us by purchasing our apparel or making a direct-donation, every penny goes towards making a positive impact.
“TOGETHER, we can change the world and help people in poverty and fleeing violence”
